ABOUT BABC | PRIMARY DIVISION

Bay Area Ballet Conservatory offers exceptional classical ballet training and is a top choice for parents within San Mateo and San Francisco counties. Our program begins with our Primary Division, where young children are introduced to the foundations of this art from and an appreciation for dance is fostered.

BABC’s faculty stands out with its team of highly educated professional teachers, most of which are former professional ballet dancers, and its family-friendly atmosphere. Of course, we love working children and sharing our knowledge with our students most of all!

LEVEL PROGRESSION | PRIMARY DIVISION

Primary Division students are placed by our age guidelines. Once students enter our Pre Professional Division, student placement is predominantly ability based.

Age 2 by Session start date, Age 3. Students remain in this level until age eligible for Pre Ballet and displays readiness for group class structure without a parent/guardian present. This is a non-performing class. Learn more and register here https://www.bayareabc.com/parent-me-ballet

Pre Ballet | Tuesdays at 4pm; Saturdays at 9am; Saturdays at 10am

Age 3 by Sept. 1, Age 4, Age 5. Students remain in this level until age eligible and displays readiness for Level 1A. Students who enter Pre Ballet on the younger side should expect to spend two School sessions in Pre Ballet. Pre Ballet classes perform in a year-end concert, additional participation fee incurred.

Level 1A | Tuesdays at 4:45pm, Saturdays at 9:45am

Age 5 by Sept. 1, Age 6, Age 7. Students remain in this level for approximately one full School Session + one summer of training. Level 1A is a bridge class to more formal ballet training. Level 1A classes perform in a year-end concert. Students Age 6 by Sept. 1 are eligible to audition for Nutcracker. Additional participation fees incurred for performance.

Level 1B | Tuesdays at 5:45pm; Saturdays at 10:45am

Teacher Recommendation - Age 9. Students remain in this level for one - two full School Sessions + Summer training. Formal training begins with a strong emphasis on flexibility, strength, musicality and coordination. A limited amount of barre work is introduced. Students are eligible to audition for Nutcracker. Additional participation fees incurred for performance.

• Pre Ballet (45 min) | $80.25 per monthly installment

• Level 1A (60 min) | $107 per monthly installment

• Level 1B (60 min) | $107 per monthly installment

• Sibling discount - (2) 5% off lesser child’s tuition. (3+) 10% off lesser child’s tuition.

• Multi Class Discount | 10% off total tuition to students who double up their classes, i.e. 2x per week.
