Bay Area Ballet Conservatory offers exceptional classical ballet training and is a top choice for parents within San Mateo and San Francisco counties. Our program begins with our Primary Division, where young children are introduced to the foundations of this art form and an appreciation for dance is fostered.

BABC’s faculty stands out with its team of highly educated professional teachers, most of whom are former professional ballet dancers, and its family-friendly atmosphere. Of course, we love working with children and sharing our knowledge with our students most of all!

PRE BALLET I & II

Pre Ballet II Student As A “Queen’s Rose” In Swan Lake

Our program begins with Pre Ballet I, for students are age 3* by September 1st, 2025 through age 4. Pre Ballet II is for students who are age 4 by September 1st, 2025 through age 5. Our Tuesday Pre Ballet class is combined Pre Ballet I & II, ages 3 by September 1st, 2025 through age 5. Each class is 45 minutes and 1x/week. Pre Ballet I introduces movement, early ballet foundations and a strong emphasis on how to be in a ballet class environment (listening, being quiet, following instructions, taking turns, etc.). Pre Ballet II covers all material in Pre Ballet I, with increased specificity on form and positions. Pre Ballet II begins to prepare students for Level 1A during the second semester. Enrollment options are below.

PRE BALLET PERFORMANCE

  • Pre Ballet I & II students will perform in “Coppelia and the Magic Toy Shoppe” - June 13th & 14th, 2026 at Skyline College. Rehearsal practice is covered during the last 10 minutes of class March-June, 2026

TUITION & FEES

Registration Fee: $50 Per Family, due upon enrollment for each new School Session.

Monthly Tuition Installment: $80.25 per installment

Our tuition is calculated by taking the total academic year cost and dividing it into 10 equal installments (Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr/May). Thus, when there are scheduled holidays, tuition is not prorated. Sibling Discounts: (2) 5% off the lesser child’s tuition. (3+) 10% off the lesser child’s tuition.

Coppelia & The Magic Toy Shoppe Performance Participation Fee: $145 Early Bird (Due Nov. 1) OR $165 (Due Feb. 1)

LEVEL 1A

Level 1A Student As A “Cherub” In The Nutcracker

Level 1A is for students who are age 5 by September 1st, 2025 (entering Kindergarten) through age 6 (First Grade). Each class is 60 minutes and 1x/week. Level 1A is appropriate for students with experience or beginners. Students learn the basic ballet positions and movements while building spatial awareness, flexibility, and coordination in an environment that emphasizes musicality and expression. Enrollment options are below.

LEVEL 1A PERFORMANCE

    • Dec. 12-14 - Nutcracker Theatre Rehearsals & Performances at Skyline College

Level 1B is for students age 6 by September 1st, 2025 through age 8. Each class is 60 minutes. Students are encouraged to enroll in classes 2x per week, but not required. Students begin a more formal study of classical ballet, and barre work is introduced, with an increased emphasis on flexibility, coordination and musicality. Enrollment options are below.

LEVEL 1C

Student In “Sunset” From Coppelia And The Magic Toy Shoppe

Level 1C is by Faculty Recommendation only, determined by a Placement/Trial class for new students. Level 1C requires enrollment in 2x/week classes. Each class is 60 minutes. Students begin to experience a fully traditional classical ballet class structure, with increased barre exercises, center work, and traveling work. Emphasis on flexibility, coordination, and musicality continues. Enrollment: Students may enroll in any two class offerings below:
